This quick ans easy transformation on a budget is a fantastic Christmas craft for most ages to enjoy!
All you need is Annie Sloan Gold Size (glue), available to purchase for £4.95 in our shop and Gold/Copper/Silver coloured Leaf at £6.95 for 24 sheets. You will also need 2 paint brushes and talcum powder.
The process is a little fiddly at first but great when you get used to it.
Firstly make sure your object is clean (in my case it's these lovely vintage glass baubles) and apply a thin coat of the gold size only to the area that you'd like the leaf to stick.... be careful its runny so wipe your brush off in the pot before applying.
Then either wait for it to dry and go clear naturally or apply light heat using a hair dryer.
once clear it should still feel tacky to the touch, when this happens it's time to apply the coloured sheets of leaf, firstly coat your hands with a thin layer of talc to prevent the leaf sticking to your fingers, then open the pack one sheet at a time and pick up using fingers or the brush. Dab it onto the area gently with a brush and tear off any excess to reuse else where and repeat the process until your item is covered...be warned this will not look great but then once you have scrubbed over it with another brush taking off all the extra bits, it then smooths out. You can go over the item as many times as needed by repeating the same process if you'd like a more solid look.
And your done!

Just a reminder you can literally paint everything with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, even outdoor furniture, pots and much more........you don't even need to wax!
Just remember any furniture that is teak wood is oily so please be aware this may have the oils show through, i use dark colours to avoid this when painted treated wood (do not use if only just treated your furniture as the paint will not adhere well)
Please make sure you paint on a hot day, and cover your items for a few days if rain is forecast.
Please ask if you have any questions!
